Engineer: Recordist / Mixer
Casey's a "can do"-er, but I think I've met my match in the whine department -- at least when his stomach is growling or if it gets into the wee hours. However, Casey's the kind of guy who could be in a burning studio or an 8.5 earthquake and not so much as flinch. So when the technical demons arrive, they have an uphill battle getting under his skin. Being a young mixer, discovering new ways of doing things puts that smile of discovery on his face. Casey started working with me sporatically, starting with H20. He loves gadgets and always has his smeller out for new-fangled gear. I realized around the time of Pumpkin that my studio was becoming seriously outdated, and it was time to embrace new technology. I also was realizing that if your engineer is the one to design your studio, all the better in terms of always having someone technical knowing the ins and outs of how you work technically. So I made a deal: I asked Casey that if he were to redesign my environment and streamline my technical world, I'd make him my regular engineer. That was his deal with the devil. We've been working together ever since. He's an excellent engineer and his implementing of flat screens, digital video, Giga Studios and Pro-tools has been life altering!
