Out of the Closet II: The Flight
(1986)
John's Thoughts
This campy film used actors I had used in my previous student films, but I had to write the story-line the night before we shot. Jerold is on a vacation and the pink stuffed creature is back! -- This time terrorizing him from the wing of the airplane. - (Sound familar? Guess what music I used??) A plane charter company let us use the plane at Burbank airport. Simulating flight and the wild antics that followed was helped greatly by baby powder being pumped by the plane windows as someone held the "sky". Twisting the camera upside down and so forth combined with Bernstein's wacky music to The Black Cauldron made for some loony flying mayhem situations.
We filmed in one day, it was edited in one, and then turned in. That's how fast these films had to be made before the next one was due.
