John's Thoughts

Metamorphose PosterHaving learned a great deal from Ultimatum, I set off to write and direct my own 45-minute thriller called Metamorphose. This time I used a professional camera and tripods and dollies lent to me by the San Jose Movie Club's Bob Dalrimple, and scaled down the production extravagances to use natural locations and not sets. This enabled me to increase my dry ice budget! My parent's home became shrouded with the stuff. A girl I worked with at the camera department at Best Products, Bridget Barfield, starred as a disturbed young woman who was forced to run around in her nightgown, breathe baby-powdered air, and fall in a swimming pool.

The film had a nice look, which is hardly evident from this crude transfer to video
